This Saturday, software developers and designers from around the world will build applications based on Open-Data.
Despite the fact that Montreal does not currently offer open-data, these newly built tools will be able to help Montrealers to better understand and interact with their city.
The open data movement is picking up steam in Montréal. Momentum is growing but it must be sustained. Montréal Ouvert invites you to come find out what’s been keeping the team busy and learn about what other stakeholders are up to.

Montréal’s 2nd Citizen Media Rendez-Vous, which was held yesterday, Monday, August 23, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. (http://citizen-media.ca).
Bringing together bloggers, engaged filmmakers, citizen journalists, media experts, independent media practitioners the event featured a morning invite-only mash up networking session, and two panel discussions during which attendants learned about how citizen media is being practised around the world to better inform and mobilize the public.
