Blue Metropolis Foundation is seeking a Programming Coordinator (English) for the period October 2010-May 2011 (renewable).
The Programming Coordinator (English) is responsible for proposing, producing and coordinating Blue Metropolis literary events in collaboration with the Artistic Director and other programming staff. The work involves research and reading; proposing events for the Blue Metropolis Montreal International Literary Festival and the Blue Metropolis International Literary Series; writing programme descriptions for grant applications and other fundraising opportunities; proposing participants and partners; working with programming consultants and other volunteers; stewarding and developing partnerships; communications with participating writers; coordination with Blue Metropolis communications staff; supervising the work of programming assistants; responsibility for event logistics; and post-event follow-up.
Being busy with (well-paying) work is a key part of any freelance businessperson’s success. But sometimes, too much work means having to pass up, or at least, sub-contract interesting jobs.
Hopefully, when Mediaville’s redesigned, interactive Marketplace comes online in the next few months, providing job leads to fellow media pros of various specialties will be a lot easier.
